What good are you to anyone?

I get the impression sometimes that even you can’t believe you’re president of the United States. How did that happen? You’ve never been the brightest or best, and I’m sorry that you’ve had the drink problems and the failed business ventures in the past, but yes, everyone deserves a second chance for success. Even you, however, must surely have known just how far beyond your capabilities you were reaching when you became the leader of the free world. This is, after all, a job which surely requires wisdom, intelligence, common sense and rationality – if there is a job description. You don’t have any of them though, do you?
So what can you, even you, do to improve things? Not starting a war in the Middle East which has destabilised the entire region? Ummm… OK. Never mind, it’ll all be over in fifty or a hundred years, it’s just a bunch of towel heads, and according to you, solutions can be as simple as “get Syria to get Hezbollah to stop doing this shit and it’s over”. Nothing like keeping it simple eh? Mind you, when our Prime Minister doesn’t even have the bollocks to question your retarded opinions in private, you must actually think that you’re right about everything.
How about signing up to Kyoto, or at least pretending to give a toss about your country being the largest producer of CO2 on Earth? Oh. Oh well. The rest of the world is all abroad, not that you know where most of the countries your policies affect are, so who cares?
So, what else… how about not getting in the way of congress, and allowing government funding for stem cell research? How about not using your first ever veto to prevent something like that, even in the face of overwhelming public support?

I just thought this about the “we just need Syria to stop them doing this shit” comment. It’s much like the pub based, testorone fuelled blagging that goes on around the world, when a bloke feels he has to make a strong statement about something, possibly something he doesn’t know much about such as, ‘David Beckham is a world class crosser of the ball but he’s never going to be a legend as the rest of his game is shit’. Kind of shows that our world leaders aren’t above a bit of low level banter…well GW isn’t for sure!
Indeed… call me stupid but you’d expect the people who are supposed to be in charge of everyone to sound less like Friday night beer-swilling pub experts playing Crystal Maze and putting the world to rights over dry-roasted peanuts.
